[초록]

본 연구의 자료는 외국인 유학생들이 제출한 토론 입론문이며, 먼저 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 비판적 사고력을 점수화하여 3단계(상중하)로 평가하였다. 이후 구현어휘 및 유형어휘로 나누어서 품사별(일반 명사, 동사, 형용사, 일반 부사)로 어휘 빈도 양상을 살폈다. 각 품사별 어휘 밀도 및 전체 어휘 밀도를 측정하였다. 또 SPSS Ver.21을 활용하여 비판적 사고력의 집단과 어휘 사용의 상관성 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 빈도에 따른 품사별 어휘 사용은 일반 명사>형용사>동사>일반 부사의 순으로 나타났다. 비판적 사고력 집단별로 어휘 사용양상을 살핀 결과, 비판적 사고력이 낮아질수록 어휘 밀도를 비롯한 어휘 사용 빈도가 낮아졌다. 특히 일원배치 분산 분석을 실시한 결과, 비판적 사고력이 높아질수록 확연하게 어휘 사용에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이는 외국인 유학생들의 한국어 어휘 사용 능력이 곧 비판적 사고력과 연관될 수 있다는 결과를 의미한다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 토론 입론문만을 연구 자료로 삼아 분석하였다는 점에서 한계가 있다. 향후 연구에서는 다양한 장르의 연구 자료를 수집 및 분석하여 비판적 사고력과 어휘 사용에 대한 논의가 이루어질 필요가 있다.

The data for this study consist of discussions submitted by international students. The collected data were used to evaluate critical thinking ability, which was classified into three levels. And vocabulary was divided into behavioral verbs and descriptive adjectives, and the vocabulary frequency pattern by part of speech (common nouns, verbs, adjectives, and general adverbs) was examined. Vocabulary density and overall vocabulary density by part of speech were measured. In addition, a correlation analysis between the critical thinking ability group and vocabulary use was conducted using SPSS Ver.21. As a result of the study, the use of vocabulary by part of speech based on frequency was observed in the order of general nouns > adjectives > verbs > general adverbs. As a result of examining the vocabulary use pattern by critical thinking ability group, it was found that as critical thinking ability decreased, not only the vocabulary density but also the frequency of vocabulary use decreased. In particular, the one-way ANOVA results showed that there was a significant difference in vocabulary use as critical thinking ability increased. This suggests that international students' ability to use Korean vocabulary may be directly related to critical thinking ability. Finally, it is worth noting that this study has limitations as it focuses only on discussion. In future studies, collecting and analyzing data from various genres should be considered to facilitate a broader discussion on the relationship between critical thinking ability and vocabulary use.
