[국내자료/학술지] 조효진 외. 2024. 외국인 유학생의 유학 동기 및 경험에 대한 질적 연구

[초록]

본 연구는  총 12명의 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행하여 자료를 수집하였고 Giorgi의 기술적 현상학적 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 5개 범주, 10개 구성요소, 33개의 중심 의미가 도출되었으며 각 범주는 ‘유학전 한국 문화에 매력을 느낌’, ‘더 나은 미래에 대한 희망을 걸어 도전함’, ‘우연과 도움의 손길로 유학길에 오름’, ‘한류의 현실 문화 속으로 젖어 들어감’, ‘한국에서 새로운 나를 찾으며 미래를 만들어 감’ 으로 명명되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 외국인 유학생에 대한 교육적 시사점과 연구의 한계점에 대해 논의하였다.

For this research purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 12 international students to collect data and analyze them using Giorgi’s phenomenological research method. As a result of the study, 33 significant meanings, 10 components, and 5 categories were derived and each category was named “Feeling Attracted to Korean Culture,” “Life Challenges with Hope for a Better Future,” “Studying in Korea by Coincidence and Helping Hands,” “Getting Into the Real Culture of the Korean Wave,” and “Building a Future by Finding a New Me in Korea.” Based on the results of this study, the educational implications and limitations of the study for international students were discussed.
